Ray,
       I am using a modified painters scaffold for a portable bench and 
storage. It is sturdy enough to make a heavy bench top to set on it and rolls 
around easy.  I made mine with cleats to hold the rails on the bottom and therefore 
it is adjustable in height. I can lift off the table top and fold the whole 
thing down to transport it. 
       The downside is the scaffold I have has broken brakes so I have to 
chalk the wheels. Guess I could drill some holes in the rims of the wheels and 
caster and just pin the wheels. Hate to spend $ on it cause so far it was all 
free.
