[TheForge] copper pipe finish

hello;

this is actually a metal working question even though it pertains to the
remodeling work. ;-)

there is a 4 inch copper dwv pipe running through the floor up through
the ceiling to the roof. instead of boxing the pipe inside a wall i was
thinking of polishing the pipe up and applying marine spar varnish to
preserve the shine.

any suggestions as to a different final finish would be greatly
appreciated.

dwv == drain, waste, vent
