They are used by flooring installers who often have to "raise" door 
jambs.  Stores that cater to flooring contractors should carry them.    
I have never bought one of the powered  variety.    Fein makes a useful 
saw that I have borrowed and used before.  It looks like a circular saw 
blade, but actually recipricates.  It can be found at:

I have also seen the large linear recipricating models made by skil and 
others that look like a regular hand saw with an electric motor.  The 
problem with these is getting them into tight areas.     Lowes and other 
home centers sell an 8inch flush cut handsaw for about $15 as well.
