Larry: I've made several "sculptural versions". While they worked well, 
mo one was fond of the extra hardware..arty or not.
The thing about them is they tend to act like condensers unless you have 
a well tuned catalytic afterburner in the system.
So, build that sucker with the assumption that sooner or later there 
will be a secondary fire in there and the whole thing will turn red hot 
and sound like a jet engine. A lot of extra walls and vents and 
insulation and the like..gets expensive, time consuming and chimney 
sweeps will hate you.
Oh yeah, if the draw of the fp is at all marginal, you are a smoked 
smith..........Pete
