Mike,

I would suggest starting your presentation with a brief discussion about
safety, especially eye protection and a warning about "black heat".   I am
sure some of your attendants will try to replicate your demonstration using
a campfire and a claw hammer, and a rock as an anvil.  We need to instill
safe work habits as early as possible.
