Fiberglass and resin is about the only way, the tank is made from
polyurethane foam, you might be successful with some spray foam in a can,
but glass and resin is a sure fire seal. We do allot of boat repair around
here http://www.pororfordoregon.com and you will see why. most if it is
done with structural polyurethane foam, and layers of fiberglass, and
polyester resin.
