My ram is closer to 100# but going from a 2 to a 2.5" made a big difference
in speed so Id say 2.5 especially if you have enough air, 4hp at least, 5 is
better. stroke depends on what you will do for tooling or stock size etc, I
had a 14" now about 11" the shorter stroke may have even helped the speed
increase with less volume above the piston to fill with air on the
downstroke, I dont miss the 3". Id like to try a 3" cyl one day to see if
its any faster, I heard once that theres a limit of something like 1m per
second that any cylinder can travel, no matter what, is this correct? it was
from a Festo sales rep.
