[TheForge] maneuvering motor to get Little Giant belt to track correctly

Thanks to leads from here and other blacksmithing forums, I got my
Little Giant flat belt replacement. Now I'm finding it's trickier than I
expected, to bolt the motor into place so the belt tracks well. I'm
using long rods to get some leverage, and may have to use a bar clamp to
pull one end of the motor mount toward the body of the Little Giant so
the belt will track straight. Any hints as to making this easier? Maybe
getting the tracking right is more important than having a lot of
tension on the belt?
When I first got the power hammer back in '86, the belt slipped a lot. I
kept applying belt dressing and in recent years the belt has been
fine...till it started to tear. I haven't put any belt dressing on at
this point - is it better to start without it?
Guess you can tell I know very little about getting machinery running
well. I'll appreciate any suggestions.
