Are you trying to attain a verdigris color on your copper? I restore
antique lighting and do a fair amount of patinization on mostly brass but
some copper. We have a verdigris solution, but I cannot think of the name
right now. If you like I will research it on Monday. By the way,
patinization is a real pain in the ass. I do it almost on a daily basis and
rarely do I get the results I want in the first (or even second) try.

I rubbed with scotch bright and most of the black rubbed off and some of the
copper. I didn't really scrub it.

I was really going for the green copper effect.
