This is about what we have for our merchant account, which we got through
our local bank.  We didn't pay for software, but we did pay about $280 for
the VeriFone Zon Jr. machine.

$10 is the minimum monthly fee.  If their 2.5% is higher than $10 then they
don't charge any additional fees.
