Yes, there was an episode of Twilight Zone where a gang of thieves steal a
gold shipment and hide in a cave with suspended animation set-up. They would
wait out the police search and emerge rich years later. Except at the end
you find out that gold has no value, because they can make all they want in
the future.  Check some of the Twilight Zone web sites for a list of the
episodes with synopses. Use Google to search.
Sorry, I can't remember the name of the episode even though I can visualize
it.
