Cover  199 pp.
7" x 10", illustrated with color photographs throughout. This book is a
pictorial survey of handmade goods, both historic and contemporary.
Chapters on woodwork, blacksmithing, carving, tin smithing,  scrimshaw,
quilts, weaving, pottery, brooms, toys, glass, etc.  Contains photos of
Albert Paley, Brent Kington, Bea Hensley and Stewart Fahnstrom. Good

The Blacksmiths Cookbook : Recipes in Iron  Francis Whitaker  1986  Soft
Cover/Spiral  176 pp
6" x 9", operations and examples of ironwork designs from the acknowledged
dean of American blacksmithing. Numerous drawings of operations and
techniques along with several photographs of Francis' work. Very Good

from paper quality else very good in a dust jacket in good condition. Many

The Artist-Blacksmith's Craft, published in 1935 and My Life as

science effective - to channel scientific knowledge into technological
achievement. To that end, R. A. F. de Reaumur made a singular and unique
contribution when, in 1722, he published his MEMOIRS ON STEEL AND IRON -
the first significant book ever devoted to the economically important iron
and steel industry. In these Memoirs, Reaumur was the first to clearly
describe the previously secret art of changing iron into steel and who
