I had volunteered as a blacksmith's apprentice at a historical =
restoration in Croton on Hudson, NY. The site is VanCortlandt Mannor. =
The general website is http://www.hudsonvalley.org/ and the gentleman I =
trained under is Lee Hart. Lee was a real historical stickler and he =
might like working with you.

Subject: [TheForge] doing research
Hi,
I'm new to the list, and joined mainly because I need to pick the =
brains of people who know about what it takes to be a blacksmith. I'm =
working on a fictional story, where the main character works as a =
journeyman to a blacksmith for part of the story. Does anyone know where =
I could locate historical information, legends and/or lore surrounding =
blacksmiths? Or does anyone here have such information they could share =
with me. You can feel free to answer off list, unless anyone else is =
curious, too.
Thank you.
