[TheForge] Weenie fingers?

Sounds like Rare Earth Magnets. Sell them in the store I work at. (Lee
Valley) Always fun to separate and count out for an order. They have a
million and one uses and come in 1/4" and up in size. The orbs and half
orbs are really fun for doing kinetic art. I use a set of five 3/4 or 1"
magnets in a pill bottle as a metal detector when using recycled timber in
the wood shop. The same bottle goes into a plastic shoping bag and dragged
around the floor. Picks up all the fallen nails, scale etc. Just invert
the bag, tie the top and take away the magnet. Had more than my fare share
of pinches.

I also collect computer magnets and my best pair are from an old server.
They will stick together with your hand inbetween! They are amazingly
strong and have made me bleed many times by slamming together with some skin
stuck between them. When they are stuck together I can always get them
apart, but it may take a few minutes of twisting and pulling on them. They
ain't no joke. A friend of mine let them run together on the floor and they
cleaved into 4 equal pieces (from two) with straight clean breaks on the
ceramic bodies. They are amazing. I always warm anyone who picks em up as
you just can't believe their strength until they bite you a time or two.

Jeff Valentine off for 13 hours on the big day
