Sorry dude, I think your logic is correct, but the math is wrong.  I found the reference I was 
looking for in "Practical Blacksmithing and Metalworking" (second edition) and it is 60 degree 
for the cold cut and 30 for the hot - but this clearly isn't written in stone - I have some hot cuts 
that taper very finely and resemble knives more than chisels..
