Sound like you never worked in a restaurant!  Customer's meal falls on
the floor, you brush it off, put it back on the plate, add some fresh
gravy (etc.) and serve it.

You could have brazed the head back on and told him it's SUPPOSED to
look like that!

My turning point was with a beautiful and well-loved ram's head fire

that I had made for my neighbor. He wanted the point tweaked just so,

when I heated it and started hammering the head popped off. Came from
a
batch of surplus stakes for cement forms, that had been hammered into
who
knows what kind of ground, who knows how many times.
Lots of cracking and breaking in that lot.
Ever since, if it's for sale, it's new steel.
Kept the head and put it up in the shop as a reminder.
