Torchere materials range from 1 1/2" bar (with a 5' long forged taper)
which was split on the diamond with a treadle hammer......
to monel and bronze 16 gauge sheet, cold cut with chisels on a treadle
hammer. The top sheet
components are 1/8" steel, cut cold with chisel's and the treadle
hammer. Everything started
with glued-on paper patterns except the leg decorations and the chased
'feet'.
The latter are forged from 1 1/2" square stock.
