[TheForge] Staining stainless Blackening

Years ago when the hand gun industry was interested in using stainless, we 
experimented with blackening by the use of molten salt.  It turned the 
stainless (both 400 and 300) black and corrosion tests showed that it was not 
impaired by this process.  If you try it, come back and let us know your 
findings.  Also, I believe that one of the 3M companies (in New Jersey) 
developed green, blue and red colors for stainless that actually penetrated 
the surface and did not impair corrosion resistance and looked pretty good.
