HI
I use a red lion mixer for the same thing. Yes it is
noisy and here is what works for me, I wrapped the
outside of the drum with foam rubber and duct tape
then took a round cone shaped plastic laundry basket
that fits in the end of the mixer filled it with foam
rubber and duct taped it up so it can be jammed in the
opening of the mixer once the tumbling is going . This
all makes it a lot quieter! A couple of other things I
have done is remove two of the three paddles so the
parts are dropped and not just carried around the drum
depending on what I am doing I add water which helps
keep the dust down sometimes soap and water for added
cleaning and the neat foam it makes . enjoy
