I guess I'm really cheap.... or just that I blacksmithing is traditionally
making something work. I had a v-belt that fit the pulley on my gas engine
that I use on my 25# LG. It runs to the flat pulley on the LG. Works
great - doesn't slip - one's enough even though it looks like it's only
3/8". Cost $0 - got the v-belt in a box with a bunch of other stuff. Just
had to adjust for length by where I drilled my holes in a wood platform that
hangs on the LG.
I run the 8 horse - pull start Kohler at idle. That works great too. Piped
the exhaust through the side wall to get rid of fumes and reduce the noise.
