A real nice slack tub is a stainless steel beer keg, with the top cut off.  Make sure and relieve all the pressure on it.  You can cut it with a metal cutting blade in a circular saw.  I got my keg from a place that sells used commercial kitchen equipment.  They had a few sitting in the back.  Some of the beer kegs are aluminum as well.
