Chad, if you happen across a farriers anvil, it will do all you need- don't
reject them out of hand. The difference between a farriers anvil and a
regular blacksmiths anvil is that farriers anvils tend to be lighter, for
easier transport, the tail is undercut more for more efficient usage in
making shoes, and they usually include a clip horn for making clips for
shoes, which is a great convenience for a farrier, but not necessary. I've
made shoes on general smithing anvils, and most anything else on farriers
anvils- I just happen to prefer farriers anvils because that's what I used
and learned on.
Maybe if I ask for what I ACTUALLY want, I'll have better luck ;-)
What I need is two pics, one of a regular anvil, one of a farriers anvil,
shown from the side, so I can more easily explain the difference to a
friend. Ultimately, I want to cast some bronze or brass anvil mountings for
another project I'm working on, and I need a good drawing or sideview to
draw from.

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is probably not a
cat.
Never a horse that cain't be rode,
And never a rider who cain't be throwed....
