Obviously peoples definition of "pretty good tool" differs.

You shouldn't cut hot metal w/ a band saw, but one can w/ abrasive.
To get a decent band saw you should spend $600 +/- $200,  Dewalt
abrasive is ~ $190.

But, that's why they make chocolate and vanilla.
