EGADS!
Makes me even sorrier I didn't figure out a way to take that shipwright's
anvil when I had the chance.
About 15+ years ago I happened onto an old machine shop that was going on
the auction block and got early dibs on the tools and equipment. I bought a
number of hammers, tongs and hardy tools but passed on the forge and anvil.
Both were just too big for me to pack off. The forge was basically home made
and huge.
The anvil though was in very good condition though I don't know what make it
was as that side was buried in a rather unstable looking heap of stuff. The
side I could see read: 10 - 3 - 3
Hmmmm. Let's see 1,207 lbs @ $14/lb . . . .
<sigh>

Good lord!!!
I just found out why the eBay auction for the 700lb anvil ended
early. He got an external offer for $9900!!! What kind of idiot would pay
$10K for an anvil??? And they guy said he already had 3 offers for
$7K. Beyond me...
Aodhfin
AMEN....
