Depends on the press. Some presses have a dual threaded
design. The coarse thread for speed and the fine for
pressure. The the fine and coarse threads are cut over
one another on the screw and the nut is split such that
there is a coarse and fine threaded portion that can be
selectively engaged according to need.
Other presses have but one thread. I don't know if there
are any other configurations, these are the two I have seen.
