Dick Carlson of Hastings, MN made a banana out mild steel. I
think he took strips of mild steel, tapered them and welded
them together to get the gross shape. To get the slight bulge
on the "sides", he filled it with water, then welded it
shut. Then he let nature do the work for him--he put in the
freezer. The slight expansion of ice forming inside caused
the sides to bulge out. It was a very realistic, natural
shape afterwards.
