I remember Peter Ross being against the wearing of gloves, but
don't recall precisely why... it may have been related to
authenticity to period interpretation and not to any technical
or safety reason, though I recall something about "feel" as
well. I may be confusing him with me... something I do often
when dreaming about being a master blacksmith.
