Nah. Most of the burns have been unplesant, but
relatively minor. I've burned my hands "badly"
on three occasions, twice in black heat grabs and
once when, as I was splitting a sparkly-white bit
of steel vertically in the vise for a fork, the
chisel jumped out of the groove and the heel of my
left hand went, full force, into the infernal
iron. That was one fugly burn, my hand nicely
charred and pretty deep, too. What amazed me was
how rapidly it healed, and along with the other
two nasty ones, left absolutely no traces of ever
having occured. Stragner yet, I have a scale burn
about 3/4" x 1/8 on my left wrist. A piece of scale
of precisely that shape popped onto that precise
spot perhaps five years ago and the scar stands out
like a sore thumb to this day.
Anyone know why it is that my really bad burns healed
so perfectly and the annoyingly painful scale burns
leave what appear to be lifelong scars?
