I believe with 5160 that once mass has reached critical temp it does not require any kind of soak time.The key is that the whole piece is at temp.There are alloys however that do require a soak time even after mass has reached critical temp -- Bob HotAnvil Forge http://members.tripod.com/hotanvil_forge
