Depends what they're to be cut from, and how long the have to be. Some
SS is fairly soft and easy to shear. Put a large number of pieces of
this across a shear and you might could cut large numbers in little
time. Then again, if getting the right wire and cutting it is more work
than the money, you just buy the stuff.

I am not sure that I could cut that many needles in the amount of time
that $9 would buy.
