Hey Grant,
What's this allegedly crap?
And you want my secret formula?
The ratio I use is by volume:
2 parts fluorspar
5 parts usp boric acid powder.
20 parts anhydrous borax.
I started out with larger portions of the fluorspar and borax and kept
reducing them till I started to saw problems with the welds then increased
them to the above amount.
If you use this flux be sure you have plenty of ventilation.
Fluorspar is nasty stuff to breath.
Chuck

All hands:
Although I have seen posts regarding the addition of flourspar (sp?) and
boric acid powder to anhydrous borax for allegedly superior welds, none have
mentioned the mixing proportions. Does anyone out there have these?
Grant
