Yeah, well, it was worn out. I finally replaced it and it never slipped
again, but by then I had developed my technique on the worn one. Nine
foot long, fixed timing 45 degree btdc, flaky kick start only, binary
clutch, no front brake, rear brake on the left and damn near no
clearance under the frame ( had to goose it to raise the front end high
enough to clear speed bumps). My motto was why buy an anti theft
device when you can ride one. Its still sitting there in the garage,
but I haven't had it on the road in a really long time. Shifter pawl
stuck on it one day and I had to make it home stuck in high gear. Real
hairy take off from a stop. Pulled it apart to rebuild the
transmission, decided to rechrome the forks (they were peeling from a
previous bad job) and haven't got around to putting it all back
together. One of these days.
