[TheForge] Rust Patina Finish

These would be for indoor pieces, furniture mostly. . I have used salt
water for outdoor stuff and coated over it, which worked well. Has anyone
here ever tried carding the loose rust off and then re applying the
solution, similar to the techniques used in cold-rust bluing SxS shotguns?
I was wondering if the carding between coats of solution might allow for a
more uniform buildup of evenly colored rust. Has anyone tried this?
