[TheForge] I've moved/Junkyard recomendations needed

Steve,  I'd call these three guys and tell them your new to the area, and
joining the NEB.  Ask them who they deal with and I'm sure you'll be
surprised with the amount of information you recieve.

        David Burtt is in Freeport Maine
        Bob Menard is in Portland Maine
and  Joel Tripp is just below Portland.
         Joel has a large family and you usually get his message machine as
he's out working most the time.  He is a great fellow as are the other two.
They are in your area.......and Ed Grove was both Joel's and David's teacher
when they got started.   Of course chatting with Ed is a good bet as he's
been in Brownfield for a long time and knows all about the area.
        These fellows can fill you in on who to deal with and who to stay
away from.  There are welding companies that are great to deal with and
others you'd rather not go near.  The same applies to equipment dealers in
the area.
        If you join the NEB, you'll get a membership list and there are some
great guys in your area that would be glad to help you out.  When you meet
the likes of Tim Greene and Gary Kenney........you'll know what I mean.  Be
sure to get me to introduce you to all of them at the Fall NEB meet.  That
would be the single best move you could make on Oct 3rd, 4th, and 5th for
networking locally in Maine.  Nol Putnam will be our demonstrator this year.
        Let me know if you need contact info for any of those fellows -and
that would put you in touch with just about everyone you'd need to get a
hold of for starters.  You could tell them I said to call.....maybe they
won't hang up on you!  :-)
        I'd tell you about junk yards around here, but they'd be two hours
travel one way for you as I'm in central NH.  One thing you'll find is you
can go north and south real fast in New England.......but when it comes to
crossing the three northern states in an east/west direction.......you'd
best be prepared for a back roads drive in the country!  The Green and White
Mountains seem to cut the states vertically to make fast travel non
exhistent............but that it also what keeps the area so nice.
        If you'd like to break the ice by meeting a few good fellows from
our organization, you could come to the workshop I'm having on the 17th of
August.  I'm sure your swamped with work just arriving to the area, but if
you need to get away for the day and meet some good folks just let me know
and I'll send you directions.  Again it's about 1 3/4 -2 hour drive one way
as it's east/west travel.
        By the way, Marc Godbout is the membership coordinator for the NEB.
He's also an extremely helpful person in getting in touch with folks.
