Hey Bob,
There was a lot more going on 3 years ago in the ABANA leadership than the
general membership was ever appraised of.
In about May of 2001 the Board of directors voted to expel 7 southern ABANA
chapters, roughly  1/4 of the ABANA membership, over the issue of conducting
anvil shoots at non ABANA sanctioned conferences.
I was having some serious medical problems at the time so don't know all the
sordid details, but the situation was serious enough to almost mortally
wound the ABANA organization.
Since Jerry   was on the board during this trying period,and in his
re-election bio stated that "if you vote for George don't vote for me" I
have acceded to his request and voted for George,  who I know and respect,
and not for Jerry.
