I remember talking with you a while ago about the possabilities of dvd's
replacing the vhs tapes, have you considered svcd's? thats super video cd's,
I am currently editing/producing a video project for someone and the
distribution method is svcd, film was shot in digital video and the output
has menus with audio etc and is very simple, plus no need for a dvd
recorder, you could hook up and array of superfast cd recorders for the
price of a dvd recorder. Only downside is the running time which is about 40
mins per disc, but multiple discs are the norm for this method. Media is
dirt cheap too, blank dvd,s still cost a lot, svcd's are playable on most
dvd players and all computers with a cd drive, not everyone has a dvd
player. Quality is good, res is 480x576.
