Andy;
Before I fell for those cheating automatic arc helmet lense systems...I
used to use Gold vapor deposit faced tinted lense plates. They come
in the standard large and small arc helmet window sizes and are fairly
inexpensive. At the time they also came in lighter shades. The
replaceable cover plate that goes over them protects the fragile gold
surface.
There are regular, off the shelf welding goggles that take the std small
arc welding style lense..no problem. Rigging up the lense mount from an
old arc helmet, and maybe even the head gear too...then using the vapor
deposit lense system a the cheap way to do it. Could be done more simply
too.
How bout a pull down, lense frame assembly mounted on the front of the
forge frame?..Gets it off your face...........Pete
