Well, maybe.  Personally, I think Jerry and I are the lucky ones.  
Someone that indulges us, but also helps us manage our desease.   
Without Liz, I have no doubt that they would find my body emaciated and 
buried under a fallen pile of industrial excreta.  My workshop would be 
filled to the point where no useful work could have been accomplished, 
and the yard would be filled with slowly the slowly decomposing remains 
of projects that when first aquired might have had a chance at life 
again, but with subsequent neglect now truly were doomed.   I have 
witnessed this phenomena at too many estate sales of friends and 
acquaintances to believe I could escape this fate left to my own 
devices.   My wife sometimes laments when I drag home something 
particularily distressing to her that "we don't want the same things", 
my repsonse has always been, "no, but I want someone who wants the 
things you want".  Balance.  Three boys from 2-15 that all are garage 
rats helps keep things from stacking up against me.
