McMaster Carr has 1 lb blocks of Sal Ammoniac for about $5.  I bought a 
bottle of powdered ammoniac from a supplier of photographic chemicals.  (I 
found this place online and have since been wondering what is a well 
stocked chemical inventory doing in the wilds of Montana?  A brisk business 
with the local militia groups? :) )  Plumbing suppliers in my area had 
never heard of the stuff and the electricians shops told me they carry no 
soldering supplies at all!  I guess the code no longer allows any soldering
