Jaws of such an arrangement are good for holding tapered and certain =
irregular forms.  As to why there are two swiveling jaws, I cannot say =
for certain.

 It is a vice owned by a friend of mine - no makers marks the front
jaw is 2 half round bins which can be removed or rotated. Any ideas of
what, why and so on?
