No sweat, it's hard to turn text into a good mental image.

The trick is getting enough air to the burner and getting it at the right
angle. Two intake ports about 25% +/- larger in diameter than the bore seem
to work pretty well. I tried a 1" "cross" on my 1" tube and it burned WAY
rich unless I really reduced the jet and increased the primary (propane)
pressure.
In short. Yes, larger intake ports, reduced to the tube. Make the tube
length about 8-9 times the tube ID. For example a 1" tube should be about
8-9" long.

Hmmmmm. I don't know if I want my name associated with such a thing as WORK!
How about you get some pipe fittings and PLAY?
<grin>
