I too am interested in the side arm burner and will try one when I can find
the suitable fittings, but I am also going to try adding a choke to my
current forge to be able to better tune it for different gas pressures.  Had
a look at Ron Reil's forge page re the side arm burners ( have not looked at
it for awhile ) and it sure is a  great resourse for all that want to build
any kind of propane forge. Kudos to Ron for sure.

The side arm burner looks pretty interesting, a couple of questions.

Why does the T fitting need to be asymetrical? People seem to use a
choke when sized 1.25x1.25x0.75. Maybe the important part is the taper
inside the fitting?

Frosty, a question about how you are running:

Are you saying that the air intake and gas jet are in the left and right
arms of the T, and the outlet is the bottom leg?
