I use an old cement mixer with sand/gravel/paint thinner for a bright finish 
sand/gravel/peroxide/water for a pre-rust finish. You have to renew the 
peroxide every time. I store the mix in 5 gallon pool chemical pails when not 
in use. I have been using it for 3 years without significant damage to the 
cement mixer. I have been meaning to make a lid for the thing but I have never 
had time to. I recommend a lid if you are using it inside.
