[TheForge] Dryer Tumblers

The dryer repairman just left, after having replaced a bad bearing. It turns
out that the noise that prompted us to call him came from a worn plastic
bearing at the read of the drum. Several list members recently mentioned
using a dryer as a tumbler. Having seen the inner works (light duty) leads
me to ask if anyone on the list actually used a dryer to tumble parts. If
so, was it a case of simply tumbling a sack of parts and media in the family
drier (occasional use), or was the drier converted for more extensive use.
It seems to me that a drier would not last long as a tumbler.
