Phlip, the New England Blacksmith's have a teaching center in
Brentwood NH that has three forges set up.
I helped Lamson Farm in Mont Vernon NH set up a blacksmith shop at
their 900 acre farm that Mrs Lamson donated to the town a few years ago.
There is Saugus Iron Works to check out if your looking for the way
to do period set up, another shop is at Strawberry Banke in Portsmouth, and
of course the Sturbridge Village shop in Sturbridge.
I don't have period looking gear but have been part of making three
portable demo set ups for looking at ideas that hold up, move easily, and
work. You could always bolt old barn board on for effect........ :-)
