Many tools (which were welded) have been found which were made
approximately 1000 B.C.

These two sentences should not have been together.

Gas welding and cutting was developed in the 1800's. A blow pipe or torch
was introducted in 1887 and this helped the development of both welding and
cutting prior to 1900. Prior to 1900, hydrogen and coal gas were used. In
about 1900 a torch suitable for use with low-pressure acetylene was
developed.
