Yup. That was exactly what Grimbold had brought, a couple of chunks of
metal with metal shafts that could be driven into a stump. Two were simply
squarish chunks of metal, while one was more of a stake anvil shape
patterned after an archeological find (I can't remember the details of
when/where at the moment).

And I agree with Phlip... the event was great!!! I got to teach for my
first time, which forced me to actually get out to the forge and make sure
I knew what I was teaching, (Thanks Phlip for twisting my arm!) and I got
to learn hardening and tempering (Thanks Grimbold for breaking the guild's
silence on that mystical art!), as well as pewter casting (I can't recall
the kind lady's name that allowed me to sit in on her class and was very
generous with her time, but a thanks to her), as well as pattern-welding
cable (Thanks Kim!). My wife also had a wonderful time learning bead-making
and jewelry making over the weekend as well, and now we're happily chatting
about how we're going to get all the stuff we need to further these new
hobbies!

Given the fact that this event only lasted about 2 full days (Friday
afternoon/evening, all day Saturday, and breaking up early Sunday
afternoon), this event packed a tremendous amount of in. About the only
complaint I heard was the fact that we couldn't keep it going a full week!!!
