How I do it on the press is to weld dies to a piece of 1/4" plate. This 
is held in place on the machine by edge clamps--just a couple of pieces 
of bar stock that the edges slide under. Tighten the bolts holding the 
bar stock to the anvil and you're clamped. Picture possible if that 
would be helpful.
