hello;
a good mixture for fireclay lining is:
4 parts fire clay
4 parts silca sand
4 parts grog ( grounded fired pottery )
minimal water

the grog is added to keep the fire clay from cracking and
to improve strenght and toughness.

i would suggest that you wear a breathe mask when mixing this.
silca dust will kill you in the long run, with silicosis.
