Phlip,
That puts you about 50 highway miles from Clinton, NJ, home of the Red =
Mill/Hunterdon Historical Museum, or whatever it's called this week. One =
of our directors is the blacksmtih there - Adam Howard.
Maybe a little close is Waterloo Village, which is a somewhat commercial =
(but nice) historic iron-making village. Call ahead and they might let =
you in free. If they're open at all, that is. NJ rolls up the sidewalks =
after Labor Day.
There are many other things to see and do, though the season might be a =
problem. If you want more of a drive, try Peters Valley Craft Education =
Center in the NW corner of the state (Layton, NJ).=20
Let me know if you want any more info.

I'm going to be going down to northern New Jersey, around Rockaway, for an
SCA event on 11/23, where I'll take my forge and teach, but I'm going down
the day before, and maybe a day or two early. Anybody got any suggestions
for any smithing things to see, particularly historical? The town I'll be
staying in is Rockaway NJ , but there's a lot of other little towns right
around it.

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is probably not a
cat.
Never a horse that cain't be rode,
And never a rider who cain't be throwed....
